ICC partners with the State of Kansas Employee Health Plan Group (SEHP) to offer full-time employees an employee assistance program, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, prescription drug coverage, dependent & health care flexible spending accounts, and a health savings or health reimbursement account and voluntary insurance plans such as hospital indemnity, accidental injury and critical illness insurance plans. Effective January 3, 2022, new employees become eligible for SEHP insurance coverage on their first day of employment.

Employee Assistance Program - The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a special service provided for State of Kansas benefits eligible employees and their dependents at no charge.  The EAP provides 24/7 support including information, short-term counseling, advice, and referrals from licensed professionals who understand the typical stresses we all face day in and day out. For more information about the Employee Assistance Program provided by ComPsych, go to their website or call 1-888-275-1205 option 1. Medical - The State Employee Health Plan (SEHP) offers full-time employees medical insurance coverage through one of four plans (Plans A, C, J, and N). When you enroll, you select either Aetna Insurance Company or Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) to be your insurance provider. All medical plans include CVS Caremark Prescription Benefits, Quest Preferred Lab Benefits and 100% coverage for preventive services when using a Network provider, including annual preventive exams, age-appropriate immunizations, mammograms, colonoscopies, etc.

Dental - The State Employee Health Plan (SEHP) offers full-time employees dental insurance coverage through Delta Dental Plan of Kansas. Your plan utilizes both of Delta Dental’s nationwide networks Delta Dental PPOTM and Delta Dental Premier®, but you will most likely experience lower out-of-pocket costs when visiting a Delta Dental PPO dentist. Delta Dental PPO providers have agreed to deeper discounts, which can mean greater savings to you.  Log in to your member account at Delta Dental or download the Delta Dental mobile app to manage your dental benefits with ease. Optional Insurance Coverage through SEHP - The State Employee Health Plan (SEHP) offers full-time employees optional insurance plans at reduced rates through The Hartford. You can select Hospital Indemnity insurance coverage, Accident insurance coverage, and/or Critical Illness insurance coverage. Optional Insurance Coverage through SEK Financial - In addition to the SEHP Plans, ICC partners with SEK Financial to offer additional insurance coverage options of cancer insurance, short-term disability, life insurance, medical transport and accident insurance.  For more information regarding these plans, please contact SEK Financial directly at (620) 223-5756.

Retirement Plan - Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) administers the statewide retirement plan for state and local public employees. As a full-time ICC employee, participation in the KPERS retirement plan is mandatory starting on your first day of employment in a full-time position. Full-time employees are required to contribute 6% of their gross wage every payday. You are 100% vested in your KPERS account after five years of continuous employment.

  • KPERS 1 - employees hired before July 1, 2009
  • KPERS 2 - employees hired July 1, 2009 through December 31, 2014
  • KPERS 3 - employees hired January 1, 2015 and after

In addition to a retirement plan, your KPERS account provides long-term disability insurance coverage and basic life insurance coverage at no cost to you. Basic life insurance policy equals 150% of your annual salary. Additional Optional Group Life Insurance is available for purchase through your KPERS account.  For more infiormation, contact a KPERS representative at 1-888-275-5737.

Optional Retirement Plans - ICC offers employees an opportunity to save for retirement through a 403(b) plan pre-tax plan or a ROTH plan thorough SEK Financial.  Full-time employees can contribute a percentage or flat-amount (subject to IRS rules) of their annual salary, in either a pre-tax or after-tax investment, if you choose to participate. Vesting is five years. ICC makes currently matches employee's contribution up to a 2% match contribution. Personal - A total of three (3) full days of supervisor approved personal leave shall be granted to all personnel each year. After completion of one year of employment, continuing part-time employees shall be granted one (1) supervisor-approved personal leave day per year (Board Policy PSL-702).

 

Sick - All full-time non-faclty employees earn sick time beginning the first day of employment to a cumulative maximum of 15 days (120 hours per year).  Faculty members should refer to the Negotiated Agreement. Sick time is earned for eligible employees at a rate of 1.25 days per month for full-time exempt (non-faculty) employees and 10 hours per month for full-time non-exempt (non-faculty) employees.  The eligible employee may use sick time for the care of the employee's immediate family to include the spouse, significant other, parents (including in-laws), step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, grand-children, great grand-children, grandparents, great grand-parents, and other persons whose residence is in the home of the employee (Board Policy PSL-703).

Tuition, Fees, and Use of Books Benefit - Full-time employees, their spouse or life partner and their legal dependents may attend ICC classes free of charge. Special fees associated with coursework will be the responsibility of the enrollee (Board Policy PSL-706).

Vacation - All full-time non-faculty, non-coaching staff and continuing part-time non-exempt (hourly) employees earn vacation days/hours beginning the first day of thr month following the start of employment. After completion of one year of employment, continuing part-time non-exempt (hourly) employees earn up to a maximum of 20 hours of vacation pay per year (Board Policy PSL-707).
