Student Resources
Independence Community College values student feedback and encourages anyone with concerns to review the relevant policies in the ICC Student Handbook or Course Catalog before taking action. These resources outline guidelines for student life, academics, and accessibility. If you have a complaint, please read these documents and submit your concern using the "Report It" button. For emergencies requiring immediate assistance, call 911 first, and then submit a concern ticket.
Pirate Pantry
The Pirate Pantry at Independence Community College, founded in 2018, provides essential food and toiletry items to support students facing food insecurity. Located in Room 108 on the lower level of the Student Union, the pantry is open to all enrolled ICC students. Students can visit once daily, Monday through Friday, to select up to three items, including non-perishable foods, toiletries, and school supplies. For urgent access, email questions@indycc.edu to schedule an appointment. The pantry is funded through grants and donations, and those interested in contributing can contact the ICC Foundation.

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program focuses on courses that have historically posed challenges for students, particularly those with high rates of D, F, and withdrawal grades. Rather than singling out students who are struggling, SI encourages all students enrolled in these courses to participate in SI sessions, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Many of the courses included in the SI Program are essential for students, either as required classes or "gatekeeper" courses that serve as prerequisites for advanced studies. Participation in SI is voluntary, allowing students the flexibility to attend sessions based on their own needs and schedules. To ensure effective support, all SI employees receive extensive training in facilitation and peer engagement strategies, equipping them to lead productive and interactive study sessions that enhance student understanding and retention of course material.
