Administrative Office Management
In the Administrative office managment program at ICC, individuals will develop skills in office management, business software, accounting, and leadership, all of which are in demand in organizations both large and small.
A CMA, or certified medication aide, administers drugs to patients in health facilities. Knowing how to become a certified med aide and the requirements of the job can help you determine whether it is an ideal career for you.
A CNA, or certified nursing assistant, is an entry-level member of a patient’s healthcare team, performing important patient-centered tasks under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Although a CNA is not a nurse, they work very closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
Long-Term Care services include a broad range of health, personal care, and supportive services that meet the needs of frail older people and other adults whose capacity for self-care is limited because of a chronic illness; injury; physical, cognitive, or mental disability; or other health-related conditions.
ICC has a variety of computer technology technical certificates and applied science degrees. These programs can create a new career path, bolster your resume, and help build the soft skills employers are looking for.
Express your creativity and talent in the beauty industry. Our Cosmetology program consists of 1,500 clock hours of extensive hands-on and classroom learning. Independence Community College aligns curriculum with the Kansas State Board requirements for state licensure. Students are taught through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and student participation supplemented with visual aids, student exercises, and student demonstrations.
Independence Community College’s EMT certificate program is for people wanting to work in the exciting field of the emergency care. The EMT Certificate is designed to train students in the techniques of the basic life support and the responsibility of the EMT in performing emergency care.
Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education associate of applied science is a vocational program that prepares students for such careers as early childhood center administrators, preschool lead or assistant teachers, after school program coordinators, family home child care providers, and professional nannies.
The ICC Welding program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces. Includes instruction in arc welding, resistance welding, brazing and soldering, cutting, high-energy beam welding and cutting, solid state welding, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, oxidation-reduction reactions, welding metallurgy, welding processes and heat treating, structural design, safety, and applicable codes and standards.
Veterinary Nurses are the ‘nurse practitioners’ of the animal health care industry. They assist with day-to-day functions in animal clinics, research facilities, zoos, and wildlife facilities and, working under the supervision of a licensed Vet, provide support for all aspects of animal care.
