Born and mostly raised in Independence, Norman has been a resident of Independence since 1961, after obtaining his Applied Electronics degree from United Electronics College, Louisville, KY. He retired from Standard Motor Products in 2003 after 38 years as Quality Assurance Manager, having worked at both the local and corporate levels in addition to management duties, and having owned two local businesses. Areas of service included board member roles for: Chamber of Commerce, Planning and Zoning Commission, Historical Museum and Art Center, Historic Preservation and Resource Commission (all of Independence), Independence Community College, Booth Theatre Foundation, and various State historic preservation and credit unions. He is currently Employment Coordinator with CLASS LTD. He and his wife Michelle have three grown children.
