College Welcomes Spradlin as New Esports Director

ICC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Zachary Spradlin as the new Coach and Director of Esports, bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the college’s growing esports program.

Spradlin joins Independence Community College from Roanoke, VA, where he served as the Esports Coach at Averett University, since January 2023. During his tenure, he successfully coached and managed the university’s esports rosters and teams, handling the scheduling of practices and matches for all teams. His leadership and organizational skills have been instrumental in developing a cohesive and competitive esports program.

In addition to his coaching experience, Spradlin has an impressive professional background. From May 2022 to May 2024, he worked as a Marketing Researcher and Graphic Designer at i77 Strategies, where he researched potential clients, created impactful graphics, and helped develop messaging strategies for clients. Simultaneously, since February 2022, Spradlin has served as the Esports Director at Argon Esports, where he was responsible for recruiting and managing esports talent, overseeing social media management, and handling the finances of the esports organization.

Together, we will create an environment where everyone can thrive and experience the joy and camaraderie that esports brings."

ICC is confident that Zachary Spradlin’s extensive background in esports coaching and management will bring new energy and growth to its esports program.

When he’s not spending time in the gaming arena, Spradlin has a diverse range of interests, wildlife biology, computer building, baseball, music, and experiencing other cultures. In his free time, he enjoys playing baseball, listening to music, and exploring different cultures.
