A new program offered by Independence Community College is designed to offer stimulating, educational summer activities for area children. Indy Connect - Kids College will feature a variety of courses for children ages 7 to 14 and will run Monday, June 14, through Thursday, June 17.
Courses include: Baby Sitter Training; Science Fun!; CPR Certification; Get to Know Theatre!; ICC Cheer & Dance Clinic; Photography Basics; and Gaming. Students will receive hands-on experience with dedicated professionals in these fields. Class locations will vary between ICC West and the main ICC campus, and some courses are free of charge.
“Our objective is to get our community’s kids on campus and expose them to learning experiences they may not have access to during the normal school year in a way that is fun and relatable for them,” explained Jaicey Gillum, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Space is limited, so early registration is highly recommended. Additional courses will be added when possible.
