International Student Activities

Clubs & Activities

In addition to ICC’s clubs and organizations on campus, international students also have the opportunity to participate in various activities throughout the semester, on and off campus, organized by the International Student Advisor. Below are some of the cultural and educational activities and events that ICC students have participated in in the past.

International Flag Day Ceremony

Every fall, the campus celebrates the diversity and culture of the international students at Independence Community College. The ceremony features speakers from the college, community and state level public officials, all officially welcoming the students to campus.

The celebration feautres the raising of the flags, which remain flying throughout the year, and an international luncheon with select cuisine from various countries.

The event is open to the public and features one international student public speaker.

Trying some yummy carnival food in downtown Independence, at Neewollah, the town’s annual Halloween festival
