Juried Art Competition/Exhibition

The Visual Arts Department at Independence Community College in Independence, KS welcomes visual art submissions from high school seniors, incoming college students, and current college students for a Juried Art Exhibition that will be on display in the ICC Fine Arts Building from April 1st through April 29th, 2022. A reception and awards ceremony will be held on April 8th from 5-7pm in the ICC Black Box Theater.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY

March 4th. No entries will be accepted after this date.

AWARDS

1st place: $2,000 scholarship

2nd place: $1,000 scholarship

3rd place: $500 scholarship

Honorable mention: $250 scholarship

ELIGIBILITY

Open to high school seniors, incoming college students, and current college students. Artwork must have been completed after 2019.

SPECIFICATIONS

Each student artist may submit up to three original works in any medium not exceeding 60 inches in any dimension.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Artists will be notified of acceptance by March 11th and must drop off their ready to hand artwork to the ICC campus March 21st - 28th.

ACCEPTED WORKS

All artwork accepted for the exhibition must be ready for professional installation (framed/wired or alternative approved methods appropriate to the work). Plexiglas is preferred over conventional glass.

DROP OFF/PICK UP

Artists are responsible for transportation of their work to and from the show. Accepted work should be delivered during designated hours (ENTER HERE) or by appointment. All work must remain in the show for the duration of the exhibit.

PUBLICITY

By submitting an entry form the artist agrees to all conditions stated here and of the Visual Arts Department at Independence Community College. The artist also agrees to release images of the artwork for publicity and cataloging purposes.
