College Hosts Pirates in the Park — Free Community Fun on August 16

The college invites families and community members to join them for Pirates in the Park, a fun-filled evening celebrating community, connection, and Pirate spirit. The event will be held on Friday, August 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Riverside Park in Independence, Kansas.

This free event will feature games, rides, snacks, and sweet treats—all open to the public. Guests will have the opportunity to meet ICC’s student-athletes before they kick off their fall competition season and connect with college faculty and staff in a casual, family-friendly environment.

"This is our way of giving back to the community and celebrating the amazing support we receive each year," said Dr. Jonathan Sadhoo, ICC President. "As we mark our 100th year, it’s important for us to honor our legacy and the community that has helped shape it. We invite families to join us for an evening of fun, connection, and Pirate pride.”

Whether you're a longtime supporter of ICC or new to the area, this event offers a perfect chance to enjoy summer fun while getting to know the people who help make Pirate Nation thrive.
