ICC is pleased to announce it has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Data Quality Award presented by the Kansas Board of Regents. This prestigious award recognizes ICC’s commitment to excellence in data collection, analysis, and reporting—cornerstones of effective decision-making and transparency in higher education.

Under the exceptional leadership of Anita Chappuie, Director of Institutional Research, ICC has enhanced its data systems to meet rigorous standards set by the Regents. These efforts include:

  • Modernizing institutional databases to improve reliability and cross-system compatibility
  • Implementing processes for comprehensive data validation and long-term accuracy
  • Generating clear, accessible data reports for internal teams, accreditation agencies, and the broader community

“High-quality data is essential to understanding student trends, guiding resource allocation, and supporting accreditation efforts,” said Chappuie. “At ICC, we believe data should tell a story; one that helps us serve our students more effectively, make informed decisions, and remain accountable to our stakeholders. This award validates the intentional work we've done to build systems that are accurate and meaningful. Being recognized by the Kansas Board of Regents is a testament to our team’s dedication to trustworthiness, efficiency, and responsiveness. It reflects a shared commitment across departments to use data as a reporting tool and a driver of progress.”

ICC is one of 19 community colleges overseen by the Kansas Board of Regents, a governing body dedicated to fostering accountability, excellence, and transparency within the state’s public post-secondary institutions. The award underscores ICC’s alignment with the Board’s mission to ensure measurable improvement in educational outcomes for Kansans.

“Anita and her team have transformed how ICC understands and uses its data,” said ICC President Dr. Jonathan Sadhoo. “Through their leadership, we’ve shifted from simply collecting data to truly leveraging it to drive institutional growth and student success. From enrollment trends to program effectiveness, their work ensures we’re making strategic decisions rooted in evidence, not assumptions. This honor from the Kansas Board of Regents authenticates our commitment to a data-informed culture—one that values continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence in everything we do at ICC.”

The Data Quality Award highlights ICC’s strengths in:

  • Providing accurate enrollment and retention data
  • Maintaining transparent reporting of student outcomes
  • Using data to inform strategic planning and institutional effectiveness

Receiving the Data Quality Award positions ICC as a model for other institutions striving for excellence in institutional research and data management. ICC’s advanced data infrastructure will continue to support student achievement, operational effectiveness, and stakeholder trust.
