Independence Community College is proud to serve as one of the host sites for this year’s Fuel Up for Summer Fun program, hosted by USD 446, providing nutritious summer meals to children in the community.
From June 2 through June 30, children ages 1 to 18 can receive free lunch and breakfast for the following day, Monday through Thursday, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at ICC West, located at 2615 West Main Street in Independence. The program is part of a district-wide initiative designed to keep kids healthy, happy, and energized throughout the summer break.
Meals are also available at several additional locations throughout the community, including Eisenhower School, Wesley Center, the Elk City Post Office, and Independence Community College’s main campus Fab Lab entrance. An extended session will also take place at Jefferson School from July 14–25, Monday through Friday, from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.
While meals are free for children, adults are welcome to purchase meals at a rate of $3.25 for breakfast and $5.50 for lunch.
Families may place meal orders by contacting USD 446 via email at zjohnson@indyschools.com, calling the Food Service Department at (620) 332-1869, or texting (620) 330-3286. When ordering, please include the number of children, family last name, and preferred site.
This program is open to all families, and no income eligibility is required. ICC encourages all local residents to spread the word and take advantage of this resource to help ensure every child in our community enjoys a healthy and active summer.
