Fine Arts Presents Helens of Troy New York at the William Inge Theatre Festival

The ICC Fine Arts Department is proud to announce its upcoming production of Helens of Troy New York by Emma Horwitz. This thought-provoking and energetic play will be performed as part of the prestigious William Inge Theatre Festival at the William Inge Theatre on the ICC campus.

A fresh and contemporary take on the classic story, Helens of Troy New York delivers a hilarious and insightful exploration of feminism, empowerment, and identity. Set in an elite all-girls school, the play follows five young women as they navigate what it means to fight for equality, acceptance, and belonging. With sharp wit and heartfelt moments, the production promises an engaging theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.

About the Play:
Deep in the basement of Main Hall at the Emma Willard School for Girls in Troy, New York, a secret society known as The Helens gathers in a boiler room to continue their tradition of radical female empowerment. On the night of their latest recruitment ceremony, the current generation of Helens grapples with the meaning of feminism, the weight of history, and the urgency of their own ambitions. Helens of Troy, New York is a sweaty, sharp, and thought-provoking play about wanting more—and never having enough room.
