Roeder Makes Moves to Senior Director of Maintenance at College

The college is proud to announce the hiring of Marcus Roeder as its new Senior Director of Maintenance. He brings over five years of dedicated experience within the ICC Maintenance Department, coupled with strong leadership skills and a deep-rooted commitment to the college's ongoing success.

In his new role, Roeder will oversee all maintenance operations and activities across ICC’s facilities. He will ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, faculty, and staff. His responsibilities include supervising and training maintenance staff, managing preventive maintenance programs, handling emergency repairs, and collaborating with other departments on special projects.

"Marcus's proven leadership, dedication, and comprehensive experience make him the ideal candidate to lead our maintenance department,” said Dr. Jonathan Sadhoo, ICC President. “We are confident that his expertise will significantly contribute to the efficiency and upkeep of our campus."

Since October 2019, Roeder has been an integral part of Independence Community College, serving as Lead Maintenance Technician I / Assistant Director. In this role, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional reliability, punctuality, and an exemplary attendance record, showcasing his commitment and dedication. His ability to seamlessly fill in for the Director of Maintenance during absences ensures a smooth transition and continuity of operations, highlighting his leadership potential and comprehensive understanding of the department's needs. Marcus's dedicated background in the maintenance field has equipped him with a wide range of skills essential to this role. Prior to joining ICC, he gained valuable experience as a Service Technician at Veolia Water and 4 State Maintenance, and as an Owner/Operator of A-Z Home Improvement. This diverse experience has honed his problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and overall proficiency in maintaining and improving facilities.
