Independence Community College (ICC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kaleb Jones as its new Athletics Administrative Assistant/ Sports Information Director. Jones brings a wealth of experience in sports information and athletics to the Pirates athletic program.

Prior to that, he gained valuable experience in the front office and broadcast booth for two summers with the Portland Pickles Baseball Club in the West Coast League, and a year as part of the broadcast crew at Portland State University.

As a former student-athlete, Jones played baseball for two years at Treasure Valley Community College (Ontario, Ore.), where he earned his Associates degree, and for two years at Concordia University (Portland, Ore.), where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kaleb to Independence Community College," said Melissa Anderson, Pirates Athletic Director. "His experience and passion for athletics will be a great asset to our athletic department and our student-athletes. We are confident that he will elevate our sports information efforts and enhance the visibility of our programs.”

Jones will be responsible for managing all aspects of media relations, including press releases, website content, social media, game day coverage, and statistical reporting. He notes that he has "always been an avid sports fan, and have loved stats, players background, media, etc."

“I am thrilled to join the Pirate family, and the community of Independence,” said Jones. “As a former junior college athlete myself, I have the utmost respect and gratitude for the Institutions, administration, and coaches who help give these student-athletes the opportunity to chase their dreams. I look forward to playing an integral role in helping highlight the successes of Independence Community College Athletics.”
