Dr. Logan Null

At a special board meeting held January 13th, the Independence Community College (ICC) Board of Trustees voted unanimously (5-0) to appoint Dr. Logan Null to fill the seat vacated by Trustee Val DeFever. Dr. Null, a lifelong resident of Independence with deep ties to the college and the community, will officially assume his duties following his swearing-in at the January 21st Board of Trustees meeting.

Dr. Null’s appointment marks the continuation of a family legacy deeply rooted in Independence and ICC. His mother, Janelle, dedicated 33 years as an educator at ICC, while his father, Dr. Scott Null, attended the college from 1975 to 1977. Now, Dr. Null steps into his new role as a Trustee, bringing a lifelong commitment to education, service, and community engagement.

Dr. Null’s journey began with an interest in physics before finding his calling in chiropractic care. Inspired by a family legacy spanning three generations, he pursued a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life College of Chiropractic, where he also served as a tutor and mentor. His professional achievements include earning a Diplomate of Craniocervical Junction Procedures (DCCJP), publishing research on innovative chiropractic techniques, and serving as Secretary/Treasurer of the Kansas Chiropractic Association, where he was recognized as Young Doctor of the Year in 2023.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Null is dedicated to serving the Independence community. An active volunteer with Scouting America, he enjoys mentoring youth through leadership-building activities such as backpacking and kayaking. He also supports high school and college students in their academic pursuits, reflecting his passion for education and personal development.

“ICC has long been a cornerstone for education and opportunity in Independence,” said Dr. Null. “I am deeply honored to join the Board of Trustees at Independence Community College, an institution that holds a special place in my family’s history and in our community. Together, we can build on its legacy and shape a bright future for the next generation.”

Dr. Null’s leadership and commitment to the Independence community make him a valuable addition to the ICC Board of Trustees. His focus on education, research, and community engagement aligns with ICC’s mission to empower students and foster growth within the broader community.
