ICC invites the community to join in the holiday spirit at its annual Holiday Concert, hosted by the Independence Community Choir and Band. This festive event will take place on Friday, December 6th, at the Wesley Center at the Methodist Church, located at 111 E Maple St, Independence, KS. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m., and admission is free for all.
In addition to an evening of seasonal music, ICC is adding extra holiday fun for attendees of all ages. Prior to the concert, starting at 6:00 p.m., guests can enjoy free hot cocoa, write letters to Santa, and make reindeer feed to take home. These family-friendly activities are designed to bring even more holiday cheer to the evening, making it a memorable experience for everyone.
The Holiday Concert will showcase ICC students and community band members as they perform a variety of holiday favorites. This final concert of 2024 is a celebration of the hard work and dedication the musicians have put in throughout the year.
“Join us for a memorable evening at our Holiday Concert at the Wesley Center! Our students and community band members have put in tremendous effort, dedicating countless hours to bring this performance to life,” said Brandon Halberg, Associate Professor of Instrumental Music at ICC. “This concert is a celebration of their hard work and talent, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come out and show support for our Pirates in their final concert of 2024. We can’t wait to share the joy of the season with everyone through music!”
The concert and pre-show activities are free to attend, and ICC encourages community members to bring their friends and family to enjoy the event. With holiday music, warm cocoa, and fun activities for the little ones, it’s an evening designed to spread joy and create lasting memories.
