In honor of International Students Day, Independence Community College (ICC) is proud to announce a special flag ceremony hosted by ICC Student Life. The event will take place on Monday, November 18th, at 11:00 a.m., just outside the Student Union, where flags representing the diverse home countries of ICC’s international students will be displayed. In the event of rain, the ceremony will move inside to the Student Union Theatre.
International Students Day, observed globally, celebrates the presence and contributions of students from around the world, emphasizing the importance of cultural diversity and international understanding. ICC is home to students from various countries, and this ceremony will offer a meaningful way for the campus and community to honor the unique cultures represented within the ICC family.
“We are thrilled to host this flag ceremony as a tribute to our international students,” said Erica Cope, Student Life Manger. “This event not only highlights the diversity on our campus but also fosters unity and a deeper appreciation for the global perspectives our students bring to ICC.”
All students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to attend the flag ceremony and show support for ICC’s international student community. This gathering will offer an opportunity to reflect on the cultural contributions of ICC’s students and to celebrate the college’s inclusive environment.
