Durbin, an alumna of ICC, brings a wealth of experience and passion for music education to her role as the director, where she will lead local vocalists in a shared love of performance and community engagement.

Durbin's connection to Independence runs deep. Her teaching career spans multiple schools, including her current position at Chautauqua County Community USD 286 where she has been instrumental in leading students to success in music performance, and former position at Independence High School.

“I had a wonderful music education when I attended ICC, so I am excited to be on the other side as an instructor,” said Durbin. “I am thrilled at the chance to direct a choir at this level and to make music with the community of Independence that I am proud to call home.”
