Independence Community College proudly announces its attainment of the prestigious 2024-2025 Military Friendly® School Gold standard designation.ICC was also awarded a Military Spouse Friendly School.
This recognition is a testament to the institution's unwavering commitment to supporting military-affiliated students. Evaluated through a rigorous process utilizing public data sources and a proprietary survey, over 1,800 schools participated in the 2024-2025 assessment. Of these, 537 schools received special commendation for exceeding expectations.
ICC is the only community college to receive the Military Friendly School Gold designation.

The methodology, criteria, and weightings for this designation were meticulously crafted by Viqtory, in consultation with the Military Friendly® Advisory Council, comprising independent leaders in higher education and military recruitment. Final ratings were derived by amalgamating the institution’s survey scores with assessments of its ability to meet various thresholds, including Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer), and Loan Default rates for all students, with special emphasis on student veterans.
