ICC is proud to announce the installation of a state-of-the-art assistive listening system at the William Inge Theatre, made possible through a generous grant from the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission (KCAIC).
As part of the KCAIC's Equipment and Technology program, dedicated to upgrading and expanding artistic facilities across the state, ICC has received support to implement this assistive listening system, enhancing the overall accessibility of the William Inge Theatre. In a demonstration of commitment to this initiative, ICC contributed matching funds of approximately $2,500.
"As we unveil the assistive listening system at the William Inge Theatre, we are not just enhancing accessibility; we are opening the door to a more inclusive and enriching experience for all members of our community," said Joel Williams Director of Technical Theatre at ICC.
The assistive listening system provides an invaluable aid for audience members who desire enhanced hearing during performances. Attendees can now easily access personal headsets, which relay amplified ambient sounds directly to individuals in the audience, ensuring an immersive and inclusive experience for all.
This initiative aligns with the KCAIC's mission to foster a thriving arts community in Kansas by supporting innovative projects that contribute to the growth and accessibility of artistic spaces.
