The Independence Community College Student and Community Orchestra is set to perform on December 6, at 7:00 pm, at the esteemed William Inge Theatre. Admission is free.

"This 'Night' themed concert on the Inge stage includes, among others, classic works like the lush Nocturne from Georgian-Russian composer Alexandar Borodin's String Quartet No. 2 and newer works like soulful Interlude Nightfall by Japanese composer Yukiko Nishimura and playful String Dreams by American composer Julie Lyonn Liebermann," said Bridget Carson, Professor of Music. "We hope you come out after dark for our beautiful Night music!"

The year's first concert will showcase string performers and educators in Southeast Kansas.

"I will be conducting works by Peter Warlock and a movement of Mozart's Symphony No. 40. I'm honored to be sharing the stage with Bridget Carson and Shannon Plymell, two fabulous members of our music community here in Independence," said Brandon Halberg, Associate Professor of Instrumental Music. "I look forward to seeing you all on December 6!"
