SVA, Indy CC Chapter President Attends Leadership Institute in Washington, D. C.

National President & CEO of Student Veterans of America and Quinton Mason

Quinton Mason, an Independence, Kansas native, U. S. Marine Corps veteran and President of the Student Veterans of America, Indy CC Chapter, was recently selected to attend the prestigious Leadership Institute in Washington, D. C., sponsored by Student Veterans of America. This premier student leadership experience brings together the country’s top SVA chapter leaders through an immersive experience designed to equip tomorrow’s leaders to serve and create lasting impacts on their respective communities.

This year, Quinton was one of seventy-six (76) veterans selected from all across the country to attend the 3-day event designed to give him the tools to better serve others and to make an impact on his campus, his community and his country. His personal leadership ethos (that force that guides his beliefs, behaviors and actions) was given the opportunity to be identified and developed to allow for continued growth throughout his working career.

Upon his return to the ICC campus from The Leadership Institute, Quinton was elated to share his experiences about the institute and the value he saw in the entire process. He hopes to motivate another ICC veteran student to attend next year’s 2024 institute as well. Quinton stated that his favorite part of attending the Leadership Institute was “Meeting the presidents of so many other SVA chapters from all across America, I was privileged to learn about the important activities that they are involved in on their individual campuses and communities and I’m hopeful that I can be instrumental in replicating some of them on the ICC campus as well.”
