College Welcomes Snyder to Board of Trustees

Patricia Snyder

The college welcomes Patricia Snyder to the ICC Board of Trustees. Interviews took place Monday, January 16, 2023, during the monthly Board of Trustees meeting.

“The ICC Board of Trustees is happy to welcome Patti Snyder to our board,” said Cynthia Sherwood, Board Chair. “Patty has tremendous experience as an attorney, which includes working with fiscal entities like the FDIC. Her experience and knowledge will be a tremendous asset to the Board. She has family ties to Independence and is very interested in helping our community and our college thrive.”

Snyder graduated from Arkansas State University and obtained her law degree from the University of Tulsa. After retiring from practice after three decades, she spent six years with The Nature Conservancy in Florida. She moved to Independence in April of 2021 because it was her ancestral home, and with several generations of her family born and raised here, she has a deep connection to the area.

She currently serves as a Board member for the Independence Historical Museum and Art Center. She is active in the Independence Garden Club, Women for Kansas, and a regular book club.

“I am greatly honored to be able to serve on the ICC Board of Trustees,” said Snyder. “ The importance of education cannot be underestimated and ICC is successfully striving to provide the best resources for all its stakeholders, including students, staff, local employers, and the community.”
