College Welcomes Weaver to Board of Trustees

Spencer Weaver

The College welcomes Spencer Weaver to the ICC Board of Trustees. Interviews took place Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

"We are thrilled to welcome Spencer to the ICC Board of Trustees. His educational background and energy made him the perfect candidate for this role,” said Dr. Cynthia Sherwood, Board Chair. “We are excited to have a member of the Cherryvale community serve alongside our current trustees to continue to lead the College, and best serve our service area.”

Weaver, an Olathe, Kansas native, moved to southeast Kansas in 2015 after accepting a teaching position at Independence High School, primarily teaching senior government in addition to world history and AP-level history classes. Weaver resided in Independence until 2020, when he purchased a home in Cherryvale.

He graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Master's in Curriculum & Instruction and K-12 Administration.

"I am excited to have been chosen to serve as a board of trustee member," said Weaver. "I am greatly looking forward to using my skills and education to help serve the students of ICC and the community at large and to get to know those that serve ICC in every capacity."
