Winners of Juried Art Competition Announced

The Visual Arts Department at ICC welcomed visual art submissions from high school seniors, incoming college students, and current college students for a Juried Art Exhibition that will be on display in the ICC Fine Arts Building from April 1st through April 29th, 2022. A reception and awards ceremony was held on April 8th in the Black Box Theatre.

Students had the opportunity to win scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year.

AWARDEES
1st: Daisy Blackmore for Danish Coffee | $2,000 Scholarship Recipient
2nd: Lillian Sears for Temple Lost to Time | $1,000 Scholarship Recipient
3rd:  Dontae Coleman for Juice WRLD | $500 Scholarship Recipient
Honorable Mention - for Logo Animation | $250 Scholarship Recipient

“All of the pieces in the Juried Art Exhibition are absolutely wonderful, and the competition was strong,” explained Emily Ritter, Associate Professor and Director of Visual Arts.“The exhibition has been a hit, and I hope the ICC community and the Independence community will have an opportunity to come to see the exhibition and support these talented young artists. Congrats to the winners and all of the exhibited artists!”
