The Independence Community College Esports team competed in the NACE Starleague Fall 2021 Grand Finals on Dec. 4-5, the four-player team brought home a National Call of Duty Title.  The format was single-elimination; all matches, best of 5 games.

Independence is one of 59 schools, across the nation, that represent the NACE Starleage. NACE Starleague was formed earlier this year as a collaboration between leading companies in the collegiate esports scene with the National Association of Collegiate Esports teaming with partners like CSL Esports, a Playfly Sports company, and Nerd Street, North America’s largest esports infrastructure company.

“I am very proud of my team and all the hard work they accomplished over the weekend,” said Christopher Kumke, Director of Esports, at ICC. “It is great to see such a new program making waves and bringing home titles. This is a huge achievement for ICC Esports and the college as a whole!”
