Independence, KS – Independence Community College (ICC) is pleased to announce Kris Adams, as the new Director of Marketing and Chief Information Officer for the college. Adams has a passion for bringing ideas to life through design, marketing, and writing. The Derby, Kansas native has a Bachelors of Arts in Communications, with an emphasis in Journalism and Public Relations, from Friends University. Adams will oversee marketing, communications, and public relations for ICC while she serves on the senior leadership team, working closely with recently appointed President Dr. Vincent Bowhay.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kris, as she brings a wealth of talent and experience to this important leadership position,” said Bowhay. “She is an amazing storyteller and will help ICC build on our brand in new and innovative ways.”
Having a professional background in brand development, design, photography, social media, and special events, Adams most recently served as Marketing Manager for Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Before this appointment, she served as Director of Marketing at Coffeyville Community College from 2015 to 2020.
“I really enjoy the creative freedom and team environment that the marketing industry provides, said Adams. “I specifically have a passion towards institutional marketing and higher education. I am excited for the opportunity to join the Pirate family and help!”
When she is not wearing her marketeer hat, Kris enjoys outdoor adventures with her dogs, late evening runs and camping.
