ICC receives report from regional accreditor

Independence, Kansas—November 14, 2017— Independence Community College (ICC) has received official notice from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), its regional accreditor, that it remains accredited with the college’s next site visit scheduled for 2019.

In response to findings made during the previous accreditation cycle regarding concerns in specific areas, HLC has placed the institution on notice, which requires an interim progress report to be submitted by March 2019.

The next comprehensive evaluation by HLC is scheduled for the academic year 2021/2022.

“The accreditation process is very helpful and constructive for the college,” said Dan Barwick, college president. “We look forward to the next visit in 2019, and I appreciate the efforts of both the employees and HLC staff.”

HLC accredits colleges and universities in a 19-state region within the central United States. Information about the college’s accreditation is available at indycc.edu.
