Nominations Open for MLK Drum Major for Justice Award

Applications are now being accepted for the Independence Community College Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice Award. Based upon Dr. King's "Drum Major Instinct Sermon" delivered on February 4, 1968, this award recognizes extraordinary individuals who go above and beyond to serve others but are seldom recognized for their work. An excerpt from Dr. King's speech states:

If you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice, say that I was a drum major for peace: I was a drum major for righteousness.

This award will be presented in January to one ICC student, one ICC faculty or staff member, and one citizen of Independence, KS who consistently demonstrates greatness through service and love. Submissions will be accepted using the link below until January 12, 2024. Nominate your outstanding students and colleagues today!
