Fab Lab ICC - Vision  Fab Lab ICC within the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (formerly Cessna Learning Center), on the main campus of Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas is a creative space providing community and student access to advanced manufacturing and digital fabrication tools for learning academic and vocational skills, developing innovations and inventions, creating businesses and producing personalized products.  Fab Lab ICC is one of about 500 MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) -chartered Fab Labs in more than 27 countries and the first such Fab Lab within a Kansas community college.  Activities, classes and seminars include not only training to operate the lab equipment, but also training in creativity and design inspired by the methodology of the Stanford University Design School (i.e. d.school).  Access to the Innovation Learning Center and Fab Lab ICC is available to students, businesses and community members in a variety of ways:

  • Enrollment in related ICC coursework or community classes and seminars
  • Membership in the ICC Innovation Club
  • Low cost annual memberships for community members
  • Student tours from area educational institutions
