THE ANNA PLAYS

November 6

7:00 pm

William Inge Theatre

Independence Community College’s Theatre Department continues a 60-year tradition celebrating student-written and directed plays.  Started back in 1960 by Margaret Goheen, the ANNA PLAYS are named for Anna Ingleman, the first drama teacher at the college.  Anna taught hundreds of students during her tenure: some notable students of hers were Margaret Goheen, Vivian Vance, and William Inge. This year’s Independence Community College directing students have taken student written scripts and have been working to create full productions since September. They are now eager to share their work with our audiences.

The ANNA PLAYS Competition is another exciting piece of this process.  Three judges have been selected: Dr. Vincent Bowhay, ICC’s President; Lisa Wilson, President of the Independence Chamber of Commerce; and Teri Barbera a longtime ICC employee as well as a 1992 ANNA winner for Best Actress.  There will also be a PEOPLE’S CHOICE Award given for best play as voted on by the audience.

Don’t miss this amazingly creative performance at 7 p.m. on the William Inge Theatre Stage at Independence Community College, November 6, 2021.  Admission is FREE, the performance runs about one hour.  Phone (620) 332-5419 or email Dee Byrd-Molnar at dmolnar@indycc.edu or Paul Molnar at pmolnar@indycc.edu for more information.
