The college is excited to announce the appointment of Luke Blevins as the new Associate Professor of Visual Art. With a rich background in various artistic disciplines and a passion for education, Blevins brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to the ICC community.
“We are so excited for everything Luke brings to ICC,” said Heather Mydosh, Arts and Letters Division Chair. “His experience and expertise will be a real boon to our students and the wider community. It will be a pleasure to see the Visual Art program flourish with his guidance and care.”
Originally from Southwest Missouri, Blevins pursued his passion for the arts at Missouri Southern State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a focus on Painting. He further honed his skills in Photography at the Mullsjö Folkögskola. Blevins has worked as a photo editor and later completed a Master of Arts in Studio Art at the University of Missouri Kansas City in 2020.
Blevins has extensive experience in higher education, particularly in the Pioneer Valley, where he worked as an arts and technology specialist. In this role, he developed and taught educational programming, blending traditional and contemporary artistic practices. As a practicing artist, Blevins works with photography, painting, and new media, with a keen interest in the process of creation and the communication facilitated through human creativity and innovation in visual presentation.
