Independence Community College is hosting a free Resume Writing Workshop on Thursday, March 24, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. This event will take place in the Academic Building in Room 132, and lunch will be provided.
“This workshop will help students with any level of work experience create a resume that will stand out to employers or transfer universities,” explains India Bennett, Program Coordinator for Veteran Student Success. “We can show you how to highlight your extracurricular activities and coursework to show off what you have learned both on and off-campus!”
Students will learn tips for a great resume, what employers look for and what not to do during the process. “We welcome all students to come to learn what should and should not be on a resume and ask any questions that they have,” said Bennett. “Staff will be available to review an existing resume if requested and give tips on how to make their resume reflect what they have learned and accomplished. Plus, we will have free pizza for anyone that attends!”
