Highschool Students Attend Theatre Matinee Performance and Fine Arts Workshops

The Independence Community College Fine Arts Department played host to over 200 area high school students the morning of Tuesday, March 3rd, as part of the Crimes of the Heart Student Matinee and Fine Arts Workshops.

High school students watched ICC's production of Beth Henley's 'Crimes of the Heart' and engaged in discussion with actors and crew afterward. Students then enjoyed lunch on campus before participating in various workshops ranging from Monoprinting, Intro to Stage Fighting, The Art of Auditions, Audio/Video, and more.

"The ability for our local high school students to come and see live theatre, followed by workshops taught by ICC Faculty is a wonderful opportunity to show these potential students what life could be like as a Pirate," explained Paul Molnar, Director of Theatre performance and Director of the show. "It also provides leadership and mentor opportunities for our own students as they assist and help guide the visiting high schools."
