ICC Jazz Band to present fall concert November 15

The ICC Jazz Band, under the direction of Larry Markiewicz, will be presenting their fall concert at 7:00 pm, Thursday November 15th at the William Inge Theater. Admission is free.

The 2018-2019 Jazz Ensemble will salute several iconic performers from the history of jazz including works by Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock and Count Basie. This concert will feature ICC’s own Terry Barbera on Duke Ellington’s “It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing” as well as extended solos by Trenton Shamblin (Trumpet), Steward Ojeda (Saxophones), and Gabby Leonard (Alto Sax).

The William Inge Center for the Arts at Independence Community College offers our students a unique educational experience, where our students join an ensemble in which they learn, work, and grow together through a specialized system of training, as they earn a transferable Associate of Arts Degree in the arts.
