Types of Scholarships
Academic Scholarships
ICC offers a variety of academic scholarships to students demonstrating outstanding academic achievement. Students must meet all ICC minimum scholarship requirements and policies in addition to the criteria listed herein.
Academic Excellence:
- Academic Requirement- Graduating high school GPA of 4.0; or ACT Composite score 35-36 and student must enroll in 15 or more credit hours.
- Award Amount- Tuition & Textbooks up to 36 credit hours per year (Fall, Spring & Summer).
A value of up to $3,132* for out-of-state students, $2,880* for in-state students,
and $2,664* for in-district students.
*award year 2024-25 - Renewal-Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher each term. Award may be renewed for a second consecutive award year.
Presidential:
- Academic Requirement- Graduating high school GPA of 3.5 – 3.99; or ACT Composite score 27-34; or GED score of 680– 800, and student must enroll in 15 or more credit hours.
- Award Amount- $1,800 per award year ($900 each semester)
- Renewal- Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher each term. Award may be renewed for a second consecutive award year.
Vice Presidential:
- Academic Requirement- Graduating high school GPA of 3.25 – 3.49; or ACT Composite score 24-26; or GED score of 660 – 679, and student must enroll in 15 or more credit hours.
- Award Amount-$1,000 per award year ($500 each semester)
- Renewal- Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher each term. Award may be renewed for a second consecutive award year.
Pirate Gold:
- Academic Requirement- Graduating high school GPA of 3.0 – 3.24; or ACT Composite score 22-23; or GED score of 640 – 659, and student must enroll in 15 or more credit hours.
- Award Amount- $750 per award year ($375 each semester)
- Renewal- Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher each term. Award may be renewed for a second consecutive award year.
Captain's Excellence (On Campus Residents Only):
- Academic Requirement- Graduating high school GPA or cumulative collegiate GPA of 3.0 or higher; or ACT Composite score 22-23; or GED score of 680 – 800, and student must reside in on-campus housing.
- Award Amount- Tuition & Textbooks up to 36 credit hours per year (Fall, Spring & Summer).
A value of up to $3,132* for out-of-state students, $2,880* for in-state students,

NOW Transfer (formerly Concurrent Transfer):
- Academic Requirement- ICC NOW GPA of 2.75 or higher in at least 12 credit hours of ICC NOW courses while enrolled in high school and student must enroll in 15 or more credit hours.
- Award Amount- Tuition & Textbooks up to 36 credit hours per year (Fall, Spring & Summer). A value of up to $2,880* for in-state students and $2,664* for in-district students.
- Renewal- Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher each term. Award
may be renewed for a second consecutive year.

Co-Curricular Scholarships
ICC offers a variety of co-curricular scholarships. All co-curricular scholarships are awarded by the Department/Activity in which the student participates. The student must meet ICC minimum scholarship requirements per the scholarship policies in addition to the Department/Activity’s requirements to receive the scholarship each term. The scholarship requirements include demonstrating "financial need" per ICC's scholarship policy, which you should review under the "Apply" section of this webpage. All co-curricular scholarship recipients not residing in on-campus housing shall not receive a scholarship in excess of $500 per term.

*First Mate Scholarship Recipients must demonstrate financial need as determined by the ICC Office of Student Financial Aid.
Athletic Scholarships
Athletic scholarships are offered by Letter of Intent (LOI) in the following areas and are awarded by the individual teams.

Local (MG County) Scholarship
Students residing in Montgomery County may receive a Pirate Scholarship cost to cover the cost of Tuition & Textbooks at ICC.
To qualify students must:
- Reside in Montgomery County
- Maintain a minimum cumulative collegiate GPA of 2.0
- Have a balance due for the cost of tuition
- Students already receiving an ICC Tuition & Textbooks scholarship are not otherwise eligible for the Pirate Scholarship
- Students whose Tuition & Textbook cost is paid for by a Federal Pell Grant or private/outside scholarships are not eligible for the Pirate Scholarship
Student do not have to apply for this scholarship. The Office of Student Financial Aid automatically evaluates all enrolled students and issues the award to qualifying students' billing account. If you have questions about your eligibility, please reach out to our office.
For students who have recently moved to Montgomery County, you should contact the ICC Registrar at registrar@indycc.edu to update your residency.

The ICC Foundation offers scholarships to students based on a variety of criteria. Students are encouraged to apply for ICC Foundation Scholarships to support their academic goals.

In addition to ICC scholarships, students are encouraged to explore a wide range of external financial aid options. The Office of Financial Aid maintains a curated list of outside scholarships that may be available to prospective and current students.

- Kansas Board of Regents KBOR offers a variety of scholarships to Kansas residents attending Kansas colleges. Students must complete KBOR's online application and have a complete FAFSA.
- Kansas Foster Child The Kansas Department for Children and Families offers an Education Assistance Program that may include a tuition and fee waiver for a qualifying student attending a Kansas educational institution. Students may apply with Kansas DCF to be approved for the program/waiver.
- Dane G. Hansen Scholarship Students from Northwest Kansas may apply.
- Kansas Masonic Scholarship Awarded by the Kansas Masonic Board of Trustees.
- Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Association Scholarship Awarded by the Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Association
- Fastweb. Fastweb is a free scholarship search engine. Students create a profile and fastweb locates scholarships across the nation that fit your personal profile.
- CareerOneStop. CareerOneStop is a scholarship list generated by the U.S. Department of Labor for students pursuing an education to gain employment. The site offers scholarships for Associate Degrees, Bachelor's Degrees and Graduate Degrees.
- College Scholarships. College Scholarships is a site that lists scholarships across the nation based on a variety of characteristics (area of study, gender, race, state, etc.). Students do not have to create a profile to access the scholarship information.
