Dear Future Pirates,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Independence Community College. As Interim President and as someone who has proudly served ICC for more than a decade, I am excited to invite you to experience everything our college has to offer. ICC is a place where opportunity, innovation, and community come together, and there has never been a better time to become a Pirate.
Since joining ICC in 2014, I have seen firsthand the impact of our mission and the power of education to transform lives. In my roles as Associate Dean, Dean, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and now Interim President, I have worked alongside our dedicated faculty and staff to expand academic opportunities, strengthen student support, and build pathways that connect education to real workforce needs across Southeast Kansas and beyond. That student-first commitment guides every decision we make.
At ICC, you will find outstanding academic and workforce programs, caring faculty, and a community that truly wants to see you succeed. Whether you are pursuing a transfer degree, technical training, athletics, the arts, or personal enrichment, you will be supported every step of the way.
I encourage you to explore the many opportunities available here. Create and invent in our MIT-chartered ICC Fab Lab. Take part in our championship-level athletic programs or join one of our many student organizations. Experience the arts in our exceptional fine arts facilities. Engage in hands-on learning that prepares you for the future you are building.
