As students prepare to head back to the classroom, the Independence Community College Cosmetology Program is helping families get ready for the new school year by offering free haircuts during its annual Cuts for Kids event.
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 19, in the ICC Cosmetology Salon. Haircuts are available by appointment only and are open to school-aged children preparing for the upcoming academic year.
The event provides an opportunity for cosmetology students to gain valuable hands-on experience while serving the community under the supervision of licensed instructors.
"Cuts for Kids is one of our favorite events each year because it allows our students to give back to the community while continuing to build their confidence and refine the skills they'll use throughout their careers," said Chelsea Bailey, Director of the ICC Cosmetology Program. "It's a win-win for everyone. Families receive a free back-to-school haircut, and our students gain meaningful real-world experience serving clients."
Appointments are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Families are encouraged to schedule early to reserve a spot.
