ICC names Schoenberger, Davis Students of the Month

Independence, Kansas—April 1, 2018 –Independence Community College (ICC) Students Jordan Schoenberger and Chad Davis have been selected as the college’s Students of the Month for March, 2018.

Schoenberger is a sophomore at ICC from Chanute, Kansas. She is pursuing a career in nursing and hopes to work in a dermatology clinic. In addition to playing for the Pirates Women’s basketball team and working in the college’s tutoring center, Schoenberger works at a local restaurant and enjoys coaching youth swimming.

Davis is a freshman at ICC, joining the college from Daytona Beach, Florida. Davis is a member of the ICC football team and the college’s Student Support Services (SSS) organization, while also being an active member of his church. Davis is pursuing a degree in sports administration and intends to become an athletic director in the future.

The Student of the Month Award was established by ICC faculty to recognize full-time students currently enrolled at ICC who have exhibited qualities of excellence both in the classroom and in the community. Students nominated are dedicated to representing the College by being diligent in their studies, being involved on campus, and by acting as role models.

All students selected as Students of the Month are awarded a $100 check from the ICC Foundation for their academic accomplishments.
