Chemical Engineering Technology  

Education in Chemical Engineering Technology prepares individuals to apply mathematical and scientific principles to the design, development and operational evaluation of systems through chemical processes.  

Independence Community College’s Associate of Science Degree program includes instruction in principles of chemistry and mathematics, computer applications, physical chemistry, industrial processing methods, drafting, and engineering graphics.  

Chemical Engineering Technology Program graduates are trained to operate many kinds of laboratory instruments, be involved with data collection and analysis, and do technical report writing and research projects.

A degree in Chemical Technology could lead to a position with area employers as a Technologist in research and industrial operations or can easily transfer to a four-year institution.  Students wanting to transfer need to be aware of the specific requirements for transfer and seek advising/counseling in ICC’s Engineering Technology Department.
