Scuba Diving offered as
ICC Enrichment Class
Scuba Diving Class is
back by popular demand
this fall at
Independence Community
College and there’s
still time to take up
this exciting sport.
Whether you’re looking
ahead at next summer’s
fun, planning an exotic
winter vacation or
fulfilling a thirst for
knowledge, Scuba Diving
will begin at ICC on
Monday, September 8th
and continue through
October 1st.
This course is open to
anyone ages 13 and up
interested in getting
open water scuba
certification for both
fresh and salt water
diving. The two credit
hour class fulfills the
PE requirement for ICC
graduation.
The class will meet on
Monday and Thursday
nights from 6:30 to 9:30
p.m. with Grady Weston
of Extreme Sports of
Joplin. The classes
will be divided into two
parts. The first
sessions will be held in
AC101 of the Academic
Building on ICC’s main
campus. The final
sessions will be offered
as experience
instruction in the Ash
Youth Center swimming
pool.
Cost of the course
including: tuition,
fees, books,
instructional supplies,
and diving equipment
fees is approximately
$300.00. This is an
investment that opens a
world of possibilities
for a life time sport.
