Local and area EMTs
wanting to continue
their training and
advance their career may
do so at Independence
Community College with
the Emergency Medical
Tech Intermediate
program. The five
credit hour class will
be instructed by Allied
Health EMT Vocational
Trainer Sue Manning.
Class begins August 11.
Additional instruction
and training will allow
an EMT to continue basic
learning as well as
development of
intravenous fluid and
blood drawing skills.
Class includes 30 hours
of clinical application
at EMS and the
hospital. Successful
completion will allow
the student to challenge
the Kansas State
Registry Exam. All
students must have
successfully completed
EMT training.
The EMT Intermediate
will meet on Mondays and
Wednesdays from
5:30-9:30 p.m. in ICC’s
Downtown Learning
Center, located in the
Independence Corporate
Offices, in Suite 323.
Class size is limited to
20 and students are
advised to register
early.
