Intermediate Training begins Soon for EMTs

Local and area EMTs wanting to continue their training and advance their career may do so at Independence Community College with the Emergency Medical Tech Intermediate program.  The five credit hour class will be instructed by Allied Health EMT Vocational Trainer Sue Manning.  Class begins August 11.

Additional instruction and training will allow an EMT to continue basic learning as well as development of intravenous fluid and blood drawing skills.  Class includes 30 hours of clinical application at EMS and the hospital.  Successful completion will allow the student to challenge the Kansas State Registry Exam.  All students must have successfully completed EMT training.

The EMT Intermediate will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. in ICC’s Downtown Learning Center, located in the Independence Corporate Offices, in Suite 323.  Class size is limited to 20 and students are advised to register early.
