Independence, Kansas—March 14, 2017— Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) students at Independence Community College (ICC) attended the Kansas/Nebraska Regional Conference in Wichita, Kansas earlier this month.

Members of PTK, an esteemed honor society for community college, attended informational speaker meetings, breakout sessions, and held elections for regional officers.

The chapter award ceremony resulted in an honorable mention award for the College Project, David McElroy receiving 4th place for the Great Idea award, Jade Kim earned 2nd place in Achievement in Art award, and ICC chapter took 4th place in the Yearbook Award.

All of the students learned a lot about leadership and the importance of being a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Selected students will be attending the International Catalyst Conference on April 6th-8th in Nashville, TN.
