Independence, KAN- Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017- The Independence Community College (ICC) pirates football team has cracked the top five in the latest NJCAA Division I football rankings on October 31 for the first time this season. The ranking comes after beating Hutchinson Community College 24-19 on Saturday, October 28.
The pirates earned 161.95 points in the poll to put them in the No. 5 postion. The points are determined by the NJCAA Football Poll Committee and the NJCAA Football Computer Rankings (FCR).
ICC currently holds a 7-1 record on the season, with their one loss coming from No. 1 Iowa Western Community College on Aug. 26-- their first game of the 2017 season.
The pirates are back in action at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4 vs No. 10 Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas.
