ICC to host an afternoon of American roots folk music

Independence Community College (ICC) Music Department will host a concert at 2pm on Sunday November 12 at the William Inge Theatre located on the main campus.

The Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorus, and Chamber Singers will present an afternoon of American roots folk music, including gospel, southern harmony, and bluegrass.

Instrumentalists featured will include guitar, banjo, violin, mandolin, washboard, and upright bass. From songs like Orange Blossom Special to What Wondrous Love is This, there is something for everyone.  The choirs are under the direction of Eric and Michelle Rutherford.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Music Department will be back in action on Thursday, Nov 16 with a concert band performance. See info here.
