During the first week of fall classes, the library will close at 5pm.
The library will be closed on Monday, September 1; Tuesday, October 7; Thursday, October 23; Friday, October 24; and during Thanksgiving Break (November 26-28).
Directions
From downtown Independence, take
10th St. south for 1.3 miles and
turn right on College Ave. Proceed
to the intersection of College and Brookside, and turn left at the water tower. You can park in the second driveway on your left. The library will be in front of you, to the left of the Fine Arts building.
From Neodesha and points north, take Route 75 south to Independence. Route 75 will turn into N 10th St. Continue straight through the traffic light at the intersection of 10th and Main, and then follow the instructions above.
From Coffeyville and points east, take Route 166 west through Coffeyville and turn right on County Road 3900 (5 miles west of town). Drive north for 9.7 miles, and then turn left on College Ave. Follow the instructions above to the library.
From Cherryvale and points east, take Route 160 west to Independence. Route 160 will turn into E Main St. At the intersection of 10th and Main, turn left at the traffic light and then follow the instructions above.
From Elk City and points west, take Route 160 east to Independence. Route 160 will turn into W Main St. At the intersection of 10th and Main, turn right at the traffic light and then follow the instructions above.
