INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC AND
ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS
This course serves as an introduction to more
advanced and in-depth concepts of the Music and
Entertainment Business. It introduces the
student to the various terms and positions of
employment within the industry. It will also
examine the duties each individual is
responsible for and what opportunities those
individuals can experience. The student should
have at least some knowledge of the industry in
terms of its diversity. |

CREATIVE
ARTIST MANAGEMENT/
TALENT DEVELOPMENT:PENDING
This
course focuses on the relationship of the artist
and manager. It explores the manager's function,
the team method, the financial relationship, developing
artists and their careers. Further study will include
the use of the media, marketing, negotiating a record
deal and defining the roles of team members. This
hands-on course will explore the instructor's relationship
with a top national recording and performing group
that gives this course immediacy in its real-world
application.

SONGWRITING:PENDING
This
course explores the basic elements of songwriting.
It will illuminate and define these elements of
songwriting so that the student can get a clear
idea of the process of constructing attractive and
marketable songs. Subjects covered in this course
are Theme, Structure, Melody, Groove, Hook, Intro,
Lyricism, Appeal, and a summary class to tie these
elements together.
