Head Volleyball Coach
Independence Community College is seeking applications for the position of Head
Volleyball Coach. Independence Community College is located in southeast Kansas
and serves full-and part-time students each year through its programs, courses,
and services.
Position
Summary
The college is seeking a team-oriented professional who will administer the
volleyball program, under the leadership of the Director of Athletics.
Responsibilities will include the development, implementation and fiscal
control of the volleyball budget; the supervision of the student athletes’
educational and athletic program; direct involvement with the Pirate Booster
Club in fundraising and promotional efforts; supervising and disciplining
players during practices and games; and additional duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Community College
coaching experience with recruiting experience preferred.

The Head Volleyball Coach is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Description
Primary
Responsibilities
1.
Develop a recruiting program, under guidelines of the NJCAA and Jayhawk
Conference, which encourages student athletes to enroll in ICC programs of study
and athletics.
2.
Responsible for the development and fiscal control of the athletic budget under
ICC, state and conference guidelines.
3.
Encourage student athlete success by maintaining contact with student services,
individual faculty and athletes to ensure academic progress and reasonable
graduation rates.
4.
Assist college officials in advancement of student athlete success by actively
pursuing financial development opportunities through official channels of the
college, including Booster Club and the ICC Athletic Foundation.
5.
Develop and maintain code of discipline and behavior in conformity with
ICC policies.
6.
Keep student athletes informed as to their rights and responsibilities related
to their participation in athletics and also as successful students.
7.
Supervision of players, assistant coaches and athletic staff during practices,
contests and trips so athletes and staff represent ICC in a positive manner.
8.
To perform additional duties as may be assigned after consultation with the
Director of Athletics.
