Articulationand Transfer Agreement
A transfer and articulation agreement
exists between Kansas Community Colleges and the regent universities
in the state. A student should complete the following requirements
in order to ensure transfer to a regent university in the state of
Kansas. A minimum of 45 credit hours of general education with
distribution in the following fields will be required. General
education hours totaling less than 45 will be accepted, but transfer
students must complete the remainder of the requirement before
graduation from the receiving institution which may require an
additional semester(s).
Certificate and
Degree Graduation Requirements
ICC offers certificates and
degrees. Certificates programs are designed to prepare individuals
for career entry or skill enhancement in six months to one year.
Students should refer to the certificate and program requirements in
the Programs of Study section of the Catalog for specific course
recommendations.
Independence Community College
awards Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), Associate
in Applied Science (AAS) and Associate in General Studies (AGS)
Degrees. To earn an Associate Degree from ICC students must complete
64 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of no less
than 2.0. Within the 64 credit hours, students must complete the
appropriate degree requirements found on pages 31 and 32.
Students must complete degree
requirements under the ICC college catalog they began study at ICC,
unless significant time has elapsed since initial enrollment. With
significant time lapse since initial enrollment, coursework must be
completed under one of the two most recent catalogs.
Transfer and articulation
agreements exist between ICC and all Kansas Universities. To ensure
transfer articulation under the agreements in place, students must
complete the above graduation requirements. Students must work with
their faculty advisor to ensure proper transfer of credit.
Commencement
Exercises
Students who meet all
graduation requirements are expected to participate in commencement
exercises at the end of the spring semester. All graduation
requirements must be completed by the end of the summer to
participate in the preceding May commencement exercises.
