General education hours totaling less than 45 will be accepted, but transfer students must complete the remainder of the requirement before graduation from the receiving institution which may require an additional semester(s).

Certificate and Degree Graduation Requirements

ICC offers certificates and degrees. Certificates programs are designed to prepare individuals for career entry or skill enhancement in six months to one year. Students should refer to the certificate and program requirements in the Programs of Study section of the Catalog for specific course recommendations.

Independence Community College awards Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), Associate in Applied Science (AAS) and Associate in General Studies (AGS) Degrees. To earn an Associate Degree from ICC students must complete 64 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of no less than 2.0. Within the 64 credit hours, students must complete the appropriate degree requirements found on pages 31 and 32.

Transfer and articulation agreements exist between ICC and all Kansas Universities. To ensure transfer articulation under the agreements in place, students must complete the above graduation requirements. Students must work with their faculty advisor to ensure proper transfer of credit.
