Congress,
Do you even matter anymore?
We have all seen it, the bailouts, the healthcare debate,
stimulus for the economy. As fast as some of these bills flow out of Congress,
do you honestly think Congress wrote or even read the full bill? With special
interest groups i.e. ACRON or SEIU, why bother even doing the job the Americans
sent you to do, Congress?
Taxing AIG bonuses what a joke, next time maybe if you read the bill (Emergency
Economic Stabilization Act of 2008) i.e. Senators Baucus and Grassley, you
wouldn’t look so foolish trying to pass a bill to tax the bonuses away, when you
had the chance to do so but failed to act when the bill was up for debate and
changes.
Hiring a speed reader to read the new cap-trade bill, news flash, Congress you
aren’t even reading it, are you relying on a third party to tell you all the
facts?
Commenting on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Senate Majority Leader
Henry Reid said, “The Apollo Alliance has been an important factor in helping us
develop and execute a strategy that makes great progress on these goals and in
moving the public to support them.” Does this mean that Apollo Alliance, a
special interest group, is writing or is helping write bills for Congress?
Apollo Alliance must have had great influence or even maybe wrote parts of the
bill since $100 billion in stimulus gave incentives for green jobs.
And with Van Jones, who resigned from the criticism he received because of the
controversy over his past political ties with a Marxist group, becoming the
green jobs Czar for the President for a few months, it shows possible signs of
strong influence or corruption in the government from special interest groups.
Congress, if you are not writing or reading the laws of the land that you are
passing that affect millions of Americans, Do you even matter anymore? We are a
Government of the people, by the people, for the people, and not a government
run by corruption and special interest groups.
